MUD DAY ACTIVITY IDEAS

Mud Paint: Mix more water than dirt to achieve a paint-like consistency. Use shallow containers to hold the mud paint, add paint brushes, and paper. For an even more interesting experience, offer large rocks for children to paint. Put a little color into the picture by adding Tempera paint to the mud. Extend the play with spray bottles of water to wash away the mud painting.

Mud Dough: Let the children stir the dry ingredients together first, then slowly add oil as the children help stir and squeeze the mixture until desired consistency is reached. Mud dough keeps in an airtight container for 7 to 10 days.

  • 1 Cup of dirt
  • 1 Cup of flour
  • ¾ Cup of vegetable oil
